Earlier this month, Urban Ghosts featured a photograph which had done the rounds on motoring websites. The image appeared to show what can only be described as a supercar fanatic’s worst nightmare: an abandoned Lamborghini Diablo, left to rot away in a field amid a group of grazing goats. But as readers quickly pointed out, the vehicle in question wasn’t a real Lamborghini Diablo, nor was it abandoned. Thanks also to Disqus user Begood, who referenced the following comment (originally posted to the website Chris on Cars) and thus added some helpful background information in the process.
The Diablo is not forgotten nor alone. It”s not an actual supercar but an incomplete replica without interior, engine or suspension. It’s located in Hungary in a small village where they specially build glass fiber body panels for bikes, speed boats, cars and also complete replicas. This is not their only -let’s say- showroom car, they’ve got some old 911, Countach and a Viper as well.

These images via Google Street View reveal the broader scene, confirming that the ‘Diablo’ isn’t the only ‘exotic car’ in the field. The images reveal a collection of fiberglass vehicles, including one occupying pride of place on the roof of the small factory itself. The fiberglass replicas can be found in the small village of Majosháza in Hungary’s Pest County, just south of Budapest.
