Abandoned trains and railways are nothing new for Urban Ghosts. But we love the composition of this rural exploration image by Pogno-based photographer Andrea Schiavon. The HDR photograph of an abandoned railroad was taken in 2014 using a Pentax X90. The location is understood to be the Piedmont region of northwest Italy, outside the area’s capital Turin. Unlike many derelict railway lines, the tracks are not overgrown. But the rusting condition of the rails, stretching off into the distance, suggest that the route is either rarely used or is indeed completely abandoned.
